Preparedness of America's ER doctors

From NBC Healthcast

New findings when it comes to the preparedness of America's emergency rooms.

Researchers estimate it'll take another ten years before emergency rooms are completely staffed with fully-trained, board-certified doctors. That's only if none of the current doctors leave their jobs or die.

The Institute of Medicine says all E-R doctors should have a specialty in emergency medicine. Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital say only about fifty five percent of doctors currently meet this standard.
