NBC12/ RVA Sports Network Big 12- Week of September 10

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Highland Springs remains atop the NBC12/ RVA Sports Network Big 12 Poll. This is a weekly high school football poll, voted on by members of each organization. It is released every Monday during the season.

1) Highland Springs (3-0, was #1)- The Springers improved to 3-0 with a 70-0 victory at Meadowbrook. Highland Springs has now put up 173 points in its first three games. Next game: @ Riverbend, 9/12

2) Manchester (2-0, was #2)- It was another lopsided victory for the Lancers, who downed cross-town rival Cosby, 49-6. They'll face their toughest test to date against Monacan on Wednesday. Next game: vs. Monacan, 9/12

3) Dinwiddie (3-0, was #3)- The Generals made a statement this past Friday with a 27-20 victory over three-time defending state champion Salem. Next game: vs. Prince George, 9/21

(4) Monacan (3-0, was #6)- A win over Clover Hill improved the Chiefs to 3-0 and catapulted them into the fourth spot. Quarterback Stone Snyder has thrown for 14 touchdowns in three games, rushing for an additional two scores. Next game: vs. Manchester, 9/12

5) Henrico (2-0, was #5)- After a shutout win over Hermitage to open things up, the Warriors followed up by topping Deep Run, 59-22, on Monday. Henrico used a big second half to pull away. Next game: @ J.R. Tucker, 9/14

6) Varina (2-0, was #4)- The Blue Devils grabbed their second dominant win in as many games, cruising past Matoaca. They now turn their attention to their home opener against Hermitage, the first game on Varina's new turf field. Next game: vs Hermitage, 9/12

7) L.C. Bird (3-0, was #7)- The Skyhawks followed up their win in the Battle of Chester with a 21-0 shutout victory at Midlothian. Jaden Payoute left the game win an injury, but Bird's three touchdowns were more than enough. Next game: vs. James River, 9/12

8) Hopewell (2-0, was #8)- Hopewell comes off a bye week to host Powhatan, a team out to an impressive 2-0 start. The Blue Devils have yet to allow a point this season. Next game: vs. Powhatan, 9/14

9) Thomas Dale (2-1, was #9)- Kevin Tucker's squad bounced back nicely from its first loss of the season, downing a struggling Hermitage team, 37-7. Next game: vs. Matoaca, 9/21

10) Goochland (1-0, was #10)- The Bulldogs continued their hot start with a 58-0 triumph over Center. They extend their regular season winning streak to 27 games. Next game: vs. Fork Union, 8-31

11) Louisa (3-0, was #12)- The Lions continue to roll through opponents, taking down King George this past Friday. Next game: @ Albemarle, 9/21

12) Benedictine (1-0, was #12)- The Cadets saw their game Friday postponed and are scheduled to get back to work on Friday at Fork Union. Next game: @ Fork Union, 9/14

Dropped out: Hermitage (0-1)
