RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond's First Baptist Church will be holding a service for the "Blessing of Animals" in October.
Anyone is welcome to bring all creatures great and small, but for everyone's safety, they must be restrained in some way.
If your animal is too scared to attend, you are welcome to bring a photo.
Each animal will get an individual blessing, and children can bring their favorite stuffed animal for one, too.
Attendees are asked to bring their own lawn chairs because there is no seating available in the courtyard.
Also be prepared to clean up after your animal.
The service will be Sunday, Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. at Boulevard Courtyard, Richmond's First Baptist Church, 2709 Monument Avenue, Richmond, VA 23220.
Free parking is available Mulberry Street and Robinson Street parking lots, or along the street on Monument Avenue, Boulevard, Park Avenue and Mulberry Street.
The service will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
