'Armed and dangerous' shooting suspect arrested

CREWE, VA (WWBT) - A man suspected of a shooting in Crewe on Tuesday night has been arrested.

Police were called to the 400 block of East Pennsylvania Avenue for a reported domestic incident where shots were fired.

In addition to Crewe police, Virginia State Police, Nottoway County Sheriff's Office and Dinwiddie County Sheriff's K-9 Unit looked for the suspect - Robert Andrew Lewis - throughout the week.

Police said Lewis was "armed and dangerous."

Lewis faces charges of:

  • Felony malicious wounding/stabbing
  • Felony malicious shooting into an occupied building
  • Possession of firearm as a felon
  • Possession of ammunition as a felon
  • Use/display of firearm/weapon in threatening manner
  • Felony elude from law enforcement

Lewis was arrested Friday morning without incident, Crewe police said. He's being transferred to Piedmont Regional Jail in Farmville.
