CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Shattered glass and a bullet hole remain at a home in what neighbors say is usually a quiet community.

Police got a call for shots fired just before 10 p.m. Monday to the 6200 block of Allerton Street.

"I have never heard gunshots in this neighbor before except for New Year's Eve." neighbor David Sobert said. "About 10 p.m. ,I heard multiple shots in the street so I came out to look, and when I got out here there was nobody around."

The homeowner didn't want to speak, but neighbors say the man just moved into the home months ago.

"The house has just been refurbished," SObert said. "It's a brand new door."

One neighbor didn't want to go on camera but said a car sped away shortly after the gunshots.

Sorbert says police collected at least five shell casings and went door-to-door asking if anyone saw anything.

As whomever is responsible remains on the loose, neighbors say they are sticking together.

"Keep your eyes open and call the police when necessary," Sobert said.

Police say no one was injured.
