Amtrak train collides with vehicle in New Kent County

NEW KENT, VA (WWBT) - An Amtrak train collided with a vehicle in New Kent County Sunday evening.
State police say it happened just after 6 p.m. in the 1400 block of Outpost Road.
Officials say a Chevy Tahoe pulled up to a CSX railroad crossing and stopped with the nose of the vehicle partially across the tracks. The driver tried to back up but got clipped by the train.
The train was delayed about an hour and then went on to Richmond.
There were no injuries reported. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was wearing a seatbelt.
No charges are expected.
The scene was cleared around 8:10 p.m.
Police continue to investigate.
