Stop the Violence picnic scheduled for Sunday

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - The Richmond Police Athletic League will hold its annual Stop the Violence Picnic on Aug. 26.
The event will be at Lucks Field from noon to 4 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
Along with food and drinks, officers will be giving out school supplies.
Richmond police said the goal of the event is to bridge the gap between police officers and the community.
