FREDERICKSBURG, VA (WWBT) - If you missed your chance to take home a new friend on Clear The Shelters Day, there's another adoption event right around the corner.

Aug. 26 is Dog Day and the Fredericksburg SPCA will team up with Lidl to find some animals a good home.

During the event, Lidl will match every dog food purchase dollar for dollar with food for pets in the Fredericksburg area.

There will also be a giveaway for free dog food for a year with a dog photo contest. Entrants must be made on the Lidl Facebook page of a dog wearing a Lidl doggie T-shirt.

The event will be from noon to 4 p.m. at the Lidl store at 1175 Warrenton Road in Fredericksburg.
