(WXIX) - While many restaurants will throw in a free appetizer or dessert on your birthday, several retailers also offer some surprisingly good freebies.

Sephora will give you a selection of sample-sized beauty products for your birthday, if you sign up for its "beauty insiders" program.

Ulta offers a rotating selection of free gifts for loyalty members on their big day!

Kiel's, Bare Minerals and Smashbox also offer free birthday gifts.

This is a fun one for kids: Sign up for Barnes and Noble Kids Club, and your son or daughter gets a free cupcake or cookie from the café on their birthday!

There's no fee to sign up, and your kid will also get 30 percent off a book or toy.

And Ace Hardware will give you a $5 off coupon on any purchase of $20 or more on your birthday. You just have to sign up on the website to get that coupon.

And if you need a caffeine boost, Starbucks rewards members get a free drink or treat on their birthday, but you have to sign up at least a month before the big day.

These deals are fun, but to keep your inbox from getting too cluttered-set up a separate email account for all of these offers.
