Virginia horse tests positive for West Nile

FAUQUIER, VA (WWBT) - A horse has tested positive for West Nile Virus in Fauquier County.
The Virginia Department of Agriculture said the horse, a 9-year-old pony mare, said the animal was not vaccinated and has recovered.
Tested confirmed the virus at the animal health laboratory in Warrenton and a USDA lab in Iowa.
West Nile Virus is mosquito-borne and can infect humans.
Symptoms in horses include loss of control of bodily movements, partial paralysis, becoming dazed and inability to stand.
