RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A convicted felon was sentenced to 52 months in federal prison for firearm possession.
Slimero Grimes, 43, of Richmond, was previously convicted of abduction, robbery and malicious wounding and was convicted in 2010 of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Court documents say Grimes was the passenger in a vehicle that eluded police and collided with a marked patrol vehicle. Police found Grimes with a shotgun in his lap while attempting to exit the vehicle.
The charge was prosecuted by the Easter District of Virginia.
