3 robotics teams qualify for world championships

HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - Robotics teams from Tucker High School and Maggie Walker High School have qualified for the 2018 World Robotics Championships in Detroit.

The teams were part of the winning group at the FIRST Chesapeake district championships at the University of Maryland in College Park. The district championships included schools from Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. Patrick Henry High School and Hanover High School also took part in the district championships.

At team from Atlee High School will also compete based on its ranking.

The competition will take place at Ford Field from April 25 to 28.
