Last week I had the opportunity to visit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. I was very familiar with the life changing work that St. Jude has been doing since 1957, but it was amazing to see this miracle hospital in person.

When I think of the famous entertainer Danny Thomas, I think of his famous show "Make Room for Daddy." I didn't know that Danny Thomas had prayed to St. Jude when his wife was in the hospital and he was close to being totally broke, that if St. Jude would help him become a famous entertainer that he would build a shrine to honor him.

Well, Danny Thomas became famous and that shrine is St. Jude Children's Hospital.

St. Jude cares for children who are suffering from various forms of cancer. When a family qualifies to receive care from St. Jude, they take care of all expenses and allow the family to focus on helping their child heal.

When NBC12 learned about the opportunity to support this lifesaving institution, we decided that we would help.

If you want to help save the lives of children there is a fun way in which you can do it. You can get a ticket to win a beautiful 3100-square-foot house built by Stylecraft Homes by participating in the St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway.

If you are interested or know of someone who might be interested, tickets are available now! To reserve your ticket and to get more information about this beautiful home go to:

Thank you so much for caring and helping the children of St. Jude Children's Hospital.
