If you saw my commentary last week, you know that I was panicked about Christmas, since this was the first time that my wife Kyle made the unilateral decision that Christmas dinner would be ordered on an app!
I don't know how many of you have had a fully catered dinner from a supermarket before, but this was breaking new ground in the Grinnage household and I was in a panic.
Since Kyle does all of the cooking, because I don't have any cooking skills, I was wondering what she was going to do with all of this free time.
Well, she actually did order a bunch of food from a local area supermarket; enough to feed 15 and everyone seemed to really enjoy the meal No one questioned who made it or was it store bought. I think they even liked the down home southern touch, particularly nice, since we are from New York.
But in the end, she decided that cooking the big bird was something that she just couldn't give up, so we did have the luxury of great aromas in the house just like the good ole days and she also decided to do a few sides as well. It was a really wonderful day!
The bonus was that I met a lot of new friends at the supermarket. Because as it turns out, ordering Christmas dinner on an app might be here to stay.
From the NBC12 family to your family we wish you nothing but the best in 2018. Happy New Year!!!
