CSX Chief Executive Hunter Harrison dies at 73

(WWBT) - CSX Corporation Chief Executive Hunter Harrison has died, just a few days after announcing he was taking a medical leave of absence.

The company says 73-year-old Harrison died "due to unexpectedly severe complications from a recent illness."

Harrison was known for his controversial push to overhaul CSX by laying off employees and streamlining operations.

Harrison will be succeeded for now, by acting CEO Jim Foote.
