RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - There are several construction headaches downtown and near the Rocketts Landing area in Richmond, but things will get worse this week.
On Wednesday, large beer tanks from Stone Brewery will arrive off the James River. On Thursday, the large tanks will need to be transported Stone Brewery's facility.
Between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Thursday, traffic will be detoured from Main Street to Nicholson Street to Williamsburg Avenue at Stony Run Parkway.
There is also another incident that's driving Central Virginia drivers crazy.
There are several backups during rush hour in the area of Interstate 195 and Laburnum Avenue, in Richmond's Northside.
Right now to get onto the highway, drivers have to make a left turn, and people coming off Interstate 195 need to yield. Several people said it is not safe.
The Virginia Department of Transportation says a roundabout would help. They are holding a meeting at Holton Elementary School, 1600 West Laburnum Avenue, at 5 p.m. on Thursday.
