HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) - Hopewell Police have arrested four juveniles they say caused about $10,000 in damage to the Merner Field area of Hopewell.
Investigators linked the suspects to 23 cases of graffiti within a six-block radius. The suspects targeted private property, businesses and public school property.
Police say they received a tip that led them to the four juveniles, all between the ages of 13 and 16.
"The citizen tip we received was instrumental to the investigation and ultimately led to the identification of the vandals involved in these senseless acts" said Criminal Investigations Lieutenant Paul Intravia.
The juveniles now face a combined total of 104 charges, some of which are felonies.
Investigators do not believe the juveniles are connected to gang activity.
