CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - A 20-year-old was arrested in Philadelphia on Sunday and charged in the Oct. 19 shooting at Virginia State University.

Dante D. Turner, of Waverly, faces charges of aggravated malicious wounding, robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in relation to the shooting, which put the campus on lock down.

It was the second shooting at VSU in less than a week, but police say the incidents are not related.

In the Oct. 19 shooting, a person was found just after 11 p.m. in the 1 block of Hayden Street with life-threatening injuries.

Turner is the third suspect arrested in the incident.

Khris J. Moonilal, 20, of Petersburg, was arrested Oct. 21 and charged with attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and malicious wounding – principal in the second degree in relation to the shooting.

On Oct. 24, 19-year-old Quavon T. Flowers, of Chesterfield, was arrested and charged with attempted robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery and malicious wounding – principal in the second degree.

The investigation shows that both Moonilal and Flowers were with Turner at the time of the shooting.
