HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - The Henrico Police Department says they have identified the driver and vehicle involved in a possible hit-and-run on Sunday night that left 24-year-old Emmanuel DeJesus dead.
However, the driver's name has not yet been publicly released as no charges have been filed.
DeJesus died at the hospital after he was found in the middle of Patterson Avenue across from King's Crossing Apartments.
"The crash remains under investigation and crash team members will be consulting with the Henrico County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office on any potential charges," Henrico police said in a news release on Tuesday.
Family members said on Monday that Dejesus was known as "Manny." He had was a graduate of Hermitage High and had just started a job at Jiffy Lube. He was the oldest of six children.
"He had a heart of gold," said his mother, Monica DeJesus. "He was a good soul, and he didn't deserve to die like that."
