Man found dead in eastern Henrico home; officers conduct death investigation

VARINA, VA (WWBT) - A man was found dead inside a home in Henrico's East End.

Just before 2 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were called out to a home in the 2500 block of Kingsland Pointe Drive, near Varina Road, for a suspicious situation. Police conducted a death investigation after they found the man's body inside the home.

Our NBC12 crew saw a second person, who was also in the home, was taken to the hospital with injuries on his or her face. The victim's injuries are non-life-threatening. There is no word yet on how the person is connected to the man's death.

Police left the home just before 6:45 a.m.

The man's body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the manner and cause of death.

Henrico police are not asking for the public's help in finding a suspect.  Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident.
