CAROLINE, VA (WWBT) - For a child with a chronic illness, a genetic disorder or life threatening disease, being in the hospital can become a regular occurrence or even a long-term situation.
Having a personalized hospital gown in their favorite color, with their favor activity, animals or characters can help make kids feel less like patients and more like children.
Providing a little piece of handcrafted comfort, an expression of a child's personality is the whole idea behind Gracie's Gowns.
Creator Jessica Kidd runs this global non-profit from her Caroline County home. She's delivered thousands of gowns to hospital NICU's and to individual families.
A very grateful Chesterfield family is showing their appreciation with an Acts of Kindness surprise.
