VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (WWBT) - An Uber driver is behind bars and banned from driving for the company after a passenger says he raped her in Virginia Beach over the weekend.

Police arrested Sewanou Bisile Yoro, 34, saying he picked up the woman for a fare then sexually assaulted her on Saturday night in the Bay Colony area, according to WAVY.com.

Yoro is being held without bond and has been banned from driving for Uber by the company and will be back in court on May 4.

"The type of conduct that has been described has no place on the app or anywhere," Uber said in a statement, according to WAVY. "The driver has been banned from Uber and we will work with police to provide them with any information that would be useful in their investigation."

The Virginian-Pilot says Yoro had no criminal history and has been driving part-time for Uber for two to three years, according to court documents.
