Fundraiser being held for Richmond firefighter's son diagnosed with cancer

MECHANICSVILLE, VA (WWBT) - A fundraiser is being held on Tuesday, March 7, for the son of a Richmond firefighter, who was just released from the hospital.

Caleb Lambert was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, classified as Stage 3 cancer. So far, more than $42,000 has been raised through GoFundMe to help Caleb's family with his medical bills.

The fundraiser event is held from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Riverbound Cafe, located at 8005 Creighton Parkway, Suite K in Mechanicsville.

Caleb has received massive support from the Richmond firefighter community.

There's nothing little Caleb loves more than coming to the Station 1 firehouse in Church Hill, which is where both his father Courtland and grandfather Mike work as firemen.

"When he's here, he's just ripping and running wanting to look at fire trucks," Firefighter Betty Miglikccio added.

It's why he makes one wish every night while his father is at work.

"Every night after dinner, [Caleb's father] comes out of the bay and FaceTimes Caleb and walks around, shows him fire trucks, shows him around the station. It's like clockwork every night," said Lt. Taylor Flowers.
