Bond denied for security guard charged in death of 60-year-old man

CHESAPEAKE, VA (WAVY/WWBT) - A security guard, who was charged in the death of a 60-year-old man, was denied bond again on Friday, according to WAVY.

Johnathan Cromwell, 21, is charged with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Jiangsheng Chen, who died on Jan. 26.

WAVY reports Cromwell was denied bond during a hearing on Monday, Feb. 27, and again on Friday.

Chen was shot outside of a community clubhouse during an alleged confrontation with two security, according to WAVY. Officers then found him inside of a minivan with multiple gunshot wounds. Chen died at the scene.

Family members told WAVY Chen was playing Pokemon Go at the time.
