HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - A Mechanicsville man will not serve any time in the death of a cyclist in September 2015.
On Monday, Stanley Dawson was given a 10-year suspended sentence on an involuntary manslaughter charge in the death of Caroline Dawn Wortham and a one-year suspended sentence on a concealed weapon charge. His driver's license is suspended indefinitely.
Wortham, of Glen Allen, died after being hit by a vehicle driven by Dawson near the intersection of Mountain Road and Farrington Road on Sept. 5, 2015.
Wortham was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
