7th suspect faces charged related to double homicide in Chesterfield

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - A seventh suspect faces charges tied to September's double homicide in Chesterfield.

Devontrey Harris is charged with participating in gang activity and malicious discharge of a firearm related to the shooting that killed 22-year-old Duval Turner Jr., of Richmond, and 24-year-old Marc Starkes, of Amelia, during a party on Sept. 4 in the 15000 block of Chesdin Green Way.

This week in a raid involving multiple agencies, six suspects were arrested and charged with second-degree murder, gang participation and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony in relation to the incident.

The following suspects were arrested:

  • Djion C. Bowles, 20, of  Richmond
  • Kennson Clairsaint, 20, of Richmond
  • Corey T. Harris, 19, of  Chesterfield
  • Kendric R. Hill, 20, of Chesterfield
  • Devin D. Taylor, 21, of Richmond
  • Tevon J. Todd, 18, of Chesterfield

Harris does not face murder charges.

Neighbors say they heard as many as six shots during the incident.

The suspects appeared in court Friday to be arraigned.
