Dinwiddie man not to serve jail time in deadly shooting of father

DINWIDDIE, VA (WWBT) - A Dinwiddie man who shot and killed his father will not serve any jail time for the deadly 2015 shooting.

Friday, James Faison was sentenced to a ten-year suspended sentence in the shooting death of Irvin Johnson in February of 2015.

Prior to the deadly shooting, Faison had been granted a protective order against Johnson.

Earlier this year, Faison was convicted of voluntary manslaughter.
