Kaine, Pence battle it out during VP debate at Longwood
RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Several people thought the vice presidential debate would be far more subdued than the first presidential debate between their running mates. But both Tim Kaine and Mike Pence were quite spirited at the debate at Longwood University Tuesday night.
Speaking of Longwood, many Virginians may have picked up that Mike Pence misspoke and called Longwood University "Norwood."
However, many Richmonders may have been a little surprised by Kaine's debate style Tuesday night.
The Richmond resident takes pride in being what he says is "boring and low key," but many on social media felt Kaine tended to interrupt the moderator and Mike Pence too much.
After the debate, it was more like a homecoming for the Virginia senator.
Kaine attended a post-debate party and was greeted by Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe.
