HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - The commonwealth's attorney is now seeking the death penalty for 22-year-old William Roy Brissette, who is accused of killing his parents on Easter weekend.
Police say Brissette killed Henry J. Brissette III, 59, and Martha B. Brissette, 56, both of Henrico, in the 8300 block of Forge Road on March 27.
Court records show that William Brissette served jail time after being convicted of a drug distribution charge in 2013. He had marijuana, pills, and packaging materials while living at home.
Court records also show he was getting help from Henrico Mental Health Services and was supposed to see a psychiatrist after his release. He continued to live at the home after getting out of jail.
Brissette was originally charged with two counts of second-degree murder in their deaths, but a grand jury upgraded those charges in May.
His trial is currently schedule to begin in June 2017.
