NORTHUMBERLAND, VA (WWBT) - A woman was charged Wednesday with assault after she was seen on video slapping a student after a fight at Northumberland High School.

In the video, Heather Lynn Sebra can be seen trying to pull two students apart during a fight that broke out as parents were dropping students off at football practice Tuesday afternoon.

She "struck one of the juveniles with an open hand," the Northumberland Sheriff's Office said.

A protective order was also served against Sebra and one of the juveniles involved.

Northumberland High School's Principal Dr. Travis Burns says he is "deeply concerned" about the fight caught on video, which was between a rising ninth-grader on the JV team and a rising 11th-grader on the varsity team.

Burns says the school is continuing to investigate the fight and will likely take disciplinary action against both students involved, as well as the student who filmed the video.

Burns says Sebra is not a school employee.
