DOSWELL, VA (WWBT) - A young boy has died after Hanover emergency crews found him floating in a Doswell hotel pool Saturday.

According to Hanover Fire Battalion Chief Mike Watkins, Hanover emergency crews received a call just before 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon about an unresponsive male juvenile in a pool at the Days Inn hotel near the intersection of Kings Dominion Boulevard and International Street.

When crews arrived, they found a boy floating in a pool in critical condition and CPR was immediately administered.

The young child was rushed to VCU Medical Center in Richmond where he was pronounced dead.

Watkins said Hanover Fire are working with the Hanover Sheriff's Office on this incident. Investigators are also working with the Medical Examiner's Office to determine the actual cause of death.

The hotel is not affiliated with Kings Dominion, which is located nearby.
