Hopewell police searching for armed robbery suspect

HOPEWELL, VA (WWBT) - Hopewell police officers are searching for an armed robbery suspect they say robbed a store Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to the Crazie store at 106 Cavalier Square, just off of Winston Churchill Drive, around 2 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Police say the suspect entered the business, brandished a handgun, and demanded money from an employee.

The suspect then left the store in a gray or silver van with an undisclosed amount of money. The van was last seen leaving the shopping center and heading southbound.

Police describe the suspect as a black male, who is between 5-feet-9-inches tall and 5-feet-11-inches tall, and has a slim build. He was last seen wearing a green mask, black gloves, black pants, and a hoodie.
