'Three armed suspects' flee police near Sussex, Prince George line

PRINCE GEORGE, VA (WWBT) - The search is on for three armed suspects who may be in the area of the Prince George & Sussex county lines.

Just before 6 p.m. Thursday, Prince George Police reported "police activity in the area of Loving Union Road & Courtland Road and asked residents to "use caution" in the surrounding areas and be on the lookout for "three armed suspects."

According to Sussex County detectives, deputies responded to a home invasion call along Cabin Point Road in the county Thursday afternoon. While on scene, dispatchers received a second call of a break-in along Baxter Road.

While responding to the second scene, deputies found the suspect's vehicles and that is when the three men fled into the nearby woods.

The men were described as three white males ranging in age from their 20s to 30s.

Prince George Police, Virginia State Police, and Sussex County deputies are adding in the search for the three men, which is concentrated in the area of Baxter Road and Jerusalem Plank Road. A helicopter has been called in to help find the suspects.

Prince George Police said the men may be armed.
