HANOVER, VA (WWBT) - The Hanover Sheriff's Office has identified the body found inside a burning car at a gas station.

Deputies say the body 37-year-old Zaheer R. Mazhar, of Richmond, was found in the back passenger seat at the BP gas station on Mechanicsville Turnpike, near Lee Davis High School.

Hanover Fire and EMS officials received the call around 11 p.m. Monday after a deputy happened to drive by and noticed the car fully engulfed in flames.

Once fire crews were able to control the fire, they realized a person's body was in the back of the burning vehicle.

No one else was injured.
