Mother pleads for answers in finding son's killer

Mother pleads for answers in finding son's killer

CHESTERFIELD, VA (WWBT) - Saturday marks seven years since the murder of a security guard at the Ivy Walk Apartments in Chesterfield, and police are still searching for a suspect.

Police say 28-year-old Damion West's body was found near a retention pond.

However, the evidence collected didn't lead to an arrest, so officers declared this as an unsolved crime. But West's mother says they still want justice and won't stop searching for her son's killer.

"I just want to know what happened to my son, and I just want to know why," said Patricia Blowe, Damion's mother.

West's family plans to honor him Saturday as they do every year, by releasing balloons at the apartment complex where he died.

Anyone with any information in this case is asked to call Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
