Richmond Police are actively searching for the gunman who opened fire outside a gas station in the city's south side.

According to investigators, a call came into dispatchers just before 10 p.m. Saturday for a report of a man shot outside the Valero gas station in the 2700 block of Broad Rock Boulevard near Warwick Road.

When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Emergency crews transported the victim to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

As the male victim recovers in the hospital, police are searching for the gunman, who is described as a black male who was last seen driving a gold-colored minivan, possibly a Nissan Quest.

Detectives currently do not have a motive for the shooting.

If you have any information that can help investigators, call Richmond-Henrico Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
