(WWBT) - Henrico and Richmond public schools are closed Friday due to the power outages and storm damage.

Henrico County Public Schools issued a statement saying they will follow up with plans on the last day of school and no employees are to report.

School administrators are working on a plan to make sure each school can accommodate a "variety of needs," including final exams, grades, report cards, teacher checkout, laptop returns, and getting medication and personal belongings, etc. They are hoping their plans will provide some options and flexibility during the next two weeks.

As of 11:51 a.m., 33 of 72 schools in Henrico are without power.

Richmond Public Schools wrote on their Facebook page saying that "essential 12-month personnel" should still report.

New Kent County Public Schools are also closed due to the power outage.

Hanover County Public Schools last day was on Thursday.
