Officials at the electric cooperative reported just before 9 p.m. that crews had reached the substation experiencing the issue and that power should be back on at Kings Dominion.

By 9 p.m. the outage map was the area was clear.

Kings Dominion released the following statement after the outage:

Shortly before 8 pm this evening, there was a power failure at Kings Dominion. As a result, there was a partial power outage in the park. All rides were stopped and safely evacuated. As always, the safety of our guests and associates is our highest priority. Rappahannock Electric responded quickly and power has been restored.

Kings Dominion will be closed for the remainder of the evening. Tickets dated June 11, 2016 will be honored through July 31, 2016. As of right now, Kings Dominion plans to reopen Sunday.
