Police ID Chester woman who died after being struck by umbrella at Va. Beach

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA (WWBT/WAVY) - A tragic incident along the Virginia Beach Oceanfront unfolded on Wednesday as a Chester woman was killed after wind blew an anchored umbrella into her chest.
According to WAVY10 in Hampton Roads, dispatchers received a call for service just after 5 p.m. for a woman suffering from cardiac arrest on the beach at 33rd Street.
Police said their investigation revealed that a 55-year-old Lottie Michelle Belk of Chester was on the beach when a strong gust of wind blew an anchored beach umbrella across the sand, striking the woman.
WAVY reports the woman was suffering from life-threatening injuries when paramedics arrived moments later.
Wind gusts at the time were between 20 and 25 mph.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
