VCU warns students to remain vigilant after armed robbery near campus

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - VCU is warning students to remain vigilant, after an armed robbery near campus.

This happened just before 10:30 Thursday night in the 1300 block of Floyd Ave.

VCU says the victim was at home when two men walked into the apartment demanding cash. After searching the apartment, the suspects took money from the victim and fled.

The suspects are described as black men with a medium build and both wore bandannas over their faces. Police say they also had handguns.

The school says police have increased patrols in this area but reminding students to keep personal safety in mind.

VCU says Richmond Police are handling the investigation.
