RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Several VCU graduates and families celebrated as the class of 2016 graduated Saturday. The school awarded about 5,000 degrees.
Pamela El, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the NBA, challenged the school's newest graduates to find their passion.
"Celebrate today and never, ever forget this feeling that you have right now," El said. "Then, after you celebrate today, find something great that only you can do … and do it. Find your passion and showcase it to the world."
Graduates took to social media and posted photos of the ceremony.
"It's been real. We made it real, and now we make every dream imaginable possible!" said Twitter user Tre R. Straughter.
A group of VCU Arts students, as well as anthropology students, showed off their graduation caps.
VCU Provost Gail Hackett took several photos with the graduates, congratulating them.
