Chesterfield woman arrested after argument leads to shooting in Richmond

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - A Chesterfield woman is behind bars after Richmond Police says she shot a man during an argument in the city Saturday night.

24-year-old Genara M. Pierce was arrested at the scene and charged with felony counts of malicious wounding and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Just before midnight Saturday, officers responded to the 300 block of North Madison Street for a report of a shooting.

Once on scene, police found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk outside the building.

Through their investigation, detectives believe the shooting stemmed from an argument between the suspect and the victim, who knew each other. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
