ETTRICK, VA (WWBT) - Investigators are trying to determine if a Thursday morning robbery at an Ettrick fast food restaurant is connected to a series of robberies at nearby businesses over the past several weeks.

In the latest incident, Chesterfield Police said a man entered the Burger King in the 20000 block of Woodpecker Road just after 8:15 a.m. Thursday, displayed a firearm and demanded money from an employee.

That employee fled the business and the suspect left without money.

Minutes later, the suspect then entered adjoining business King's FastMart brandishing a firearm and demanding money from that store's register.

After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect fled on foot toward the University Apartments at Ettrick across the street.

The suspect is described as a black male in his early 20s. He was about 5 feet 8 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing black jeans, a hoodie with the hood up, gray work gloves and a ski mask.

This is the second robbery in less than two days after a man walked into the Dollar General store in a nearby shopping center. The store is a short distance from the Burger King on Woodpecker Road.

In that robbery, the suspect displayed a pink handgun and demanded money from the store.

After getting money from the business, the suspect fled toward the University Apartments at Ettrick.

On April 24, a man robbed the Food Lion store in the same shopping center as the Dollar General store along Woodpecker Road. Later that same day, a man attempted to rob the same Burger King restaurant that was robbed Thursday morning.

Anyone with information should contact Chesterfield Police at 804-748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660.
