LURAY, VA (WWBT) - Shenandoah National Park officials and the Rappahannock County Sheriff's Department are searching for a missing 80-year-old man who was last seen Saturday evening.
Wallace Anderson is described as "an avid hiker" and was carrying aluminum hiking poles, which were also reported missing from his home in the Old Hollow Road area. Crews originally searched his property, but the search has expanded into Shenandoah National Park.
Anderson is described as 5'9" and weighs about 145 pounds.
Over 100 trained ground searchers and multiple dog teams from several agencies and organizations are assisting in the search. No volunteers are need in the search at this time.
