LOUISA, VA (WWBT) - The Louisa Sheriff's Office says a man died after being shot multiple times during a home invasion.
Maj. Donald A. Lowe says family members stopped by Kevin Robinson's home in the 2100 block of Oakland Road around 6:45 p.m. Wednesday and found him in a back bedroom. They initially thought Robinson had suffered from a heart attack, but rescue crews determined he had been shot several times.
Lowe says it appears that Robinson, 43, fired back during a home invasion.
"Robbery does not appear to be a motive," said Lowe. "Robinson was living alone at the time. We have not determined the time or day of the incident at this time."
Family members say they just don't understand how this could have happened. They say Robinson was described as a happy person and was always smiling.
They are waiting for answers and struggling to come to terms with this loss.
Lowe says the sheriff's office is "using every resource available" during its investigation. No suspects have been named.
