U.S. Capitol Police ID suspect shot at Visitor's Center

WASHINGTON, D.C. (WWBT) - U.S. Capitol officials have identified a suspect shot at the Visitor's Center as Larry Dawson.

NBC News says that the initial report of an officer shot was not correct and that the suspect was the person shot.

U.S. Capitol Police say a female bystander was injured and taken to the hospital.

The White House and U.S. Capitol were ordered on lockdown immediately after the shooting.

The lockdown was later lifted from the Capitol, but the Visitor's Center remains closed.

D.C. Police call the shooting an isolated incident.
