At least one person taken to hospital after VA plane crash

PITTSYLVANIA, VA (WWBT/WSLS) - At least one person was taken to the hospital following a small plane crash in Pittsylvania County that had two children on board, according to WSLS.
EMS crews told WSLS that the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. near Long Circle Road.
Four people were on the private plane, according to Virginia State Police. The plane was heading to Maryland from Charleston S.C. The pilot reportedly radioed in to authorities about an "in-flight emergency" shortly before the plane crash, according to WSLS.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
