(WWBT) - A local couple combined their passions for the arts and academics to start a daycare called The A.R.T.S., which stands for Artists Revealed Through Service.

They teach life skills, community awareness and help kids develop confidence through self- expression. Dozens of kids from preschool through high school  get experience in public speaking, theater, painting, sewing, cooking and gardening among the different offerings. Students also make frequent field trips to area attractions from The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to the Maymont Park Nature Center.

The A.R.T.S. will soon celebrate the opening of a new community center. Today, we're helping a grateful parent show how much families appreciate the way The A.R.T.S. is nurturing their children.
