Gunman injures customer during robbery in Henrico

HENRICO, VA (WWBT) - Police are searching for a robbery suspect who injured a customer in the 6700 block of Staples Mill Road on Thursday.

"The victims reported that a black male, armed with a silver handgun, entered the business and approached the register," said Henrico Police spokesman Lt C.J. Eley. "The suspect struck a customer in line and pointed the firearm at the victim while demanding money."

He said the suspect went behind the counter, removed money and fled on foot. The customer was transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.

Police say the suspect is 5'7'" to 5'9" and was wearing a dark gray hooded sweatshirt with neon strings on the hood, dark jeans, white shoes and black clothing covering his face.
