Police search for suspect following Main Street robbery

RICHMOND, VA (WWBT) - Richmond Police are searching for a man who robbed a woman in Richmond, Sunday evening.

The suspect approached a female in the 1300 block of West Main Street around 5:38 p.m. The male stated he had a gun and demanded the woman's purse. He stole the purse and fled on a black bicycle with "Trek" lettered on it.

There were no injuries. No gun was displayed.

Detectives believe moments later the suspect was in a nearby 7-Eleven store, "behaving in a suspicious manner."

The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 5'9"- 6'0 tall and weighing approximately 175 pounds. He was seen wearing a grey sweatshirt with a purple and white-striped hoodie and a ball cap. He has a mustache and beard.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
